Born in Chicago and raised in Southern California, I attended Pomona College and graduated with my degree in 1992. From there, I earned my single subject teaching credential from UC Irvine in 1995. This year marks my twentieth year as a teacher. My first four were spent at Paul Revere Middle School in Los Angeles. Upon moving to Santa Barbara, I spent a year substitute teaching at the schools in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. Then, I spent the next seven years teaching at The Howard School in Carpinteria. Following that experience, I joined the faculty at Notre Dame in 2007.
I have been happily married for seventeen years (she is a UCSB alum and local optometrist - let me know if you need your eyes checked). Currently, I have a daughter in Sixth Grade and a son in Third Grade. I enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, surfing, and golfing.
